中国经典小故事是中华优秀传统文化的丰富宝藏。这些小故事言简意赅，生动形象，记录了中国悠久的历史、灿烂的文明和多彩的文化，熔文学性、知识性、趣味性、哲理性、教育性于一炉，启智增慧，培根铸魂。

《用英语介绍中国经典小故事》正是基于这种理念推出的，这些小故事雅俗共赏，入眼入心，短小精悍，朗朗上口，既有波谲云诡、想象奇绝的神话故事，又有形形色色、妙趣横生的人物故事，也有入木三分、醍醐灌顶的寓言故事，还有栩栩如生、活灵活现的历史故事，更有千锤百炼、意味深长的成语故事和千回百转、荡气回肠的传奇故事……这些故事涵盖做人、处事、修身、教育、爱国等主题，多角度、多层面、全方位精彩呈现了伟大祖国的源远流长，以及绚丽多姿的文化宝藏。

本书采用故事、英语译文、注解、感悟的方式进行编排，精心翻译，力争再现经典故事的神韵与风姿。焦作市文化馆娄莎莎参与了本书编译，负责汉语部分的审校。
